and choral pedagogue, Michael Zaugg, to St. John’s! As part of his visit, Michael will be offering two public choral workshops.
Currently the Artistic & Managing Director of Pro Coro Canada, Swiss-native Michael Zaugg has distinguished himself as an innovative and versatile conductor and clinician, active across Canada and in Europe. A passionate pedagogue, Michael is strongly committed to his work not only with choirs but also with emerging artists.

Hand-Head-Heart Approach to Choral Art

A presentation about transferring the pedagogical approach of a Swiss educator into choral music. Learn about balancing Hand-Head-Heart as a choral leader for self-reflection, for individual music study and for leading an ensemble. How do you implement this HHH triangle with your choir? Honing the Craft: Conducting Workshop

A workshop for choral pedagogues and choral leaders to discover, analyze and practice ways to work with gesture when rehearsing and performing choral music. This session is hands-on, and will provide opportunities for any skill-level to hone expression, pulsation and energy in gestures. No advanced preparation is required. Running time: approximately 2 hours.
